Recently I reported on the suspicous fire which burned their home/office to the ground. This is an update. The arson investigation by the Colorado State Police was not accurate, and neither is SAFAN's message. Please see details below, and help pressure the State of Colorado to investigate further, because they have closed their investigation prematurely... Suzanne Harris and Peter Ludwell of the Law Loft, who were living in the back of the station, do not agree with the official investigation by the Arson Squad of the Colorado State Police for the following reasons: 1)The hotplate was unplugged- Suzanne watched Peter unplug it just before they left the building to go to Denver. The hotplate had a black power cord, and the other power cords were white, so it wasn't hard to pull the right one. While Peter unplugged it, Suzanne commented to him that they ought to get a humidifier, which would work better than the Dutch oven they had filled with water on top of the hotplate. 2) In addition, there is no way it could have fallen as discussed below- it was on a table, against a wall, in the middle of the table, with a very heavy Dutch oven filled with water on top of it. In addition, there was nothing flammable by the table. 3) Suzanne and Peter were in the habit of always locking the deadbolt, and the lower lock before leaving the building. The lower lock was a push button type that could be locked from inside, but you had to have a key to lock or unlock the deadbolt (except from inside.) When Suzanne and Peter's neighbors saw that the place was on fire, they thought Suzanne and Peter might be inside, and they kicked the door in. They couldn't have done this if the deadbolt was locked. Someone must have entered the building through a window, set the fire, unfastened the deadbolt from inside prior to exiting. They must have set the lower lock prior to leaving. The doorframe was damaged where the lower lock caved it in,but there was no damage from the deadbolt because someone must have unset it. Moreover, although the area where the hotplate had been was damaged by fire, the worst damage was in the area where their computers were where an entire wall burned and there was nothing flammable by it-- so there is something very strange about this whole situation. I feel strongly that the Law Law was torched due to the political successes they and IAHF have been having lately. I want to make clear that I am not accusing anyone of anything here, but I would like to make an observation: an ongoing arson investigation would slow down the payment of the insurance money- it would be in the best interests of the radio station to be able to collect the insurance money as fast as possible, but how fair is it for them to blame Suzanne and Peter for a fire that they did not start? Suzanne and Peter, who run the Law Loft very well may have been targetted by people wanting to put an end to both their radio show (The Law Loft Report) and especially to their research which enabled us to do the following: 1) to knock the German Codex proposal back to step 3 from step 5 last June in Geneva. This angered some very powerful pharmaceutical companies which would like to take over the dietary supplement industry. 2) to kill the Canadian Codex proposal to create a special herbal task force at WHO for the purpose of creating a negative or "no trade" list of herbs, which would have banned the international sale of a lot of herbs. This also angered the pharmaceutical industry. 3) to amend the FDA reform bill by specifically exempting dietary supplements from the harmonization language, which kept our food and drug law from being harmonized (made the same as) that of the European Union where dietary supplements are regulated as drugs. This also angered the pharmaceutical industry. Peter Ludwell took photos of the fire scene, and what is needed here is pressure from a lot of people to reopen the arson investigation. Unplugged hot plates don't cause fires. Someone unset the deadbolt on the door. Someone must have broken in to the building, and there were reasons for them to do so. Please join me in contacting: Colorado Bureau of Investigation Dept of Public Safety 690 Kipling Ste 4000 Denver, CO 80215 Donations sent to the American Freedom Network won't help Suzanne and Peter of the Law Loft. While the American Freedom Network is covered by insurance, the Law Loft was not. The American Freedom Network is unfairly blaming Suzanne and Peter for a fire that they did not cause, and is not going to allow them to go back on the air with their radio show, "The Law Loft Report". I will see if the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has an email address, and if they do, I will post another message along with their phone and fax numbers. If you can, please also donate to IAHF. I just hired a part time helper, and need sufficient cash flow to keep him on full time. Donations made out to the Law Loft or to IAHF can be sent c/o IAHF 2411 Monroe St. Hollywood, FL 33020. Many thanks to those of you who have already sent in your donations.
