Mr. Hammell --

We have just recently determined the locations for the meetings based on response to the earlier notifications. The attached letter (see attached and below) provides the revised times and the locations of the upcoming Public Meetings for the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU).

The German proposal for Vitamin and Mineral Supplements, and the summary of discussions at the 1998 CCNFSDU meeting are available at the Codex website: http://www.fao.org/waicent/faoinfo/economic/esn/CODEX/cnfsdu22/Nf00_01e.htm. If you do not have access to the website, I will be happy to send you the materials if you provide me with your address.

It is not necessary to send comments on the agenda items in advance of the meeting, but written comments are appreciated.

The US delegation selection process is ongoing at this time, and selection notifications will be sent out later this spring.

Thank you for your interest in the topics of the CCNFSDU.

Re: Meetings to develop position papers on the agenda items for the June 19-23 meeting of the CCNFSDU.

Re: Intention to participate as member of US Codex Delegation to CCNFSDU.

Ellen Anderson:

Where Are Codex Meetings on May 1 and on May 17? Each is from 9am-4pm, but the letter you sent out didn't say where.

I would like to attend.

Please supply me with a copy of the German proposal for Vitamin and Mineral Supplements, and the summary of discussions at the 1998 CCNFSDU meeting.

Is it necessary to send comments re the agenda items in advance of the May 1 meeting?

Please let me know.

Dr.Wehr: I have been on the US delegation to CCNFSDU at the meetings in Bonn in '96 and Berlin in '98, and would like to be on the delegation again this year in Berlin. Please notify me by return email re this.
