IAHF List: Please share with me any personal experiences or information you may have on this subject- I've become fascinated with it and started a new section on the site called Walking in Balance to contain information about Fasting, Colon Cleansing, Juicing, Detoxing, Food preparation, Exercise, Meditation, Prayer, Chi Gong, Tai Chi, and things related.

Its ironic- here I am trying to defend health freedom, a very high stress type of work, and until now I realize I haven't been paying nearly enough attention to my own health habits. I've literally been sabotaging myself this way for years, but didn't know enough to realize it! Ignore this stuff and we can get a one way ticket to the harp farm, do not pass GO, do not collect $200. Siyanara, Hasta la vista, adios muchachos!

Do yourselves a favor- upon arising have 1/4 glass of distilled or spring water with 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper- (cayenne). Chase this with a full cup of water. This will help your circulation, will get more oxygen to your brain, and will also help your digestion. It will help your whole day go better, and can substantially improve your health and help you fight the FDA and Codex more efficiently!

During my recent fast I starting using red pepper (cayenne) for the first time, and today I spent some time reading about it and wanted to pass this on because it aids digestion and improves circulation which can help anyone to have more energy, better clarity of thought. Red pepper acts as a catalyst for other herbs and stops bleeding from ulcers. Its very good for the heart, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, spleen, and stomach. Its useful for arthritis and rheumatism. It helps to ward off colds, sinus infections, and sore throats. When applied topically its good for pain. When used with lobelia its good for the nerves.

90 % of all illnesses begin in the colon, with toxins leaching into the blood and lymph. Its a big reason why 40% of Americans get cancer, and why a lot more than this suffer from chronic fatigue, sluggishness, mental slowness and irritability. .Its a big reason why we have so many coffee addicts, why we have so many people on tranquilizers, why so many consume alcohol, and why head aches and constipation are so common.

Over the years different friends have tried to get me interested in paying more attention to this sort of thing, but until now, I never paid much attention because I thought I was doing everything right, and the thought of fasting bothered me, I was psyched out by it, mistakenly believing that I'd experience unbearable hunger and just not be able to get very far in a fast. Turned out I was wrong!!!

Much to my extreme surprise, on the third day of a juice fast, my hunger went away so completely that I did not feel any desire to eat or drink ANYTHING until the evening of the third day. At that point, I decided to change my fasting regimine from having a half teaspoon of epsom salt in warm water upon arising, then another glass a half hour later, then nothing for two hours whereupon I'd have my first glass of homemade fruit punch. I was drinking a gallon a day of homemade fruit punch made from oranges, grapefruits and lemon with spring water (pulp left in) and had some really cleansing bowel movements that really started cleaning me out, but then I no longer felt any hunger and it suprised me so much I decided to mention it to you.

Thats when I decided to change my fasting regimine in order to give my liver and the rest of my digestive tract more of a break. I switched from the fruit punch to drinking glasses of spring water with 2 tablespoons of grade B organic maple syrup, with a half sqeezed lemon, and 1/10th teaspoon of cayenne pepper. I also had psillium husks in water from time to time because they scour your intestinal walls and help break up the impacted scale and flush it out. I did this routine for the nst 4 days, and broke the fast the day after Thanksgiving, having foregone the traditional feast for the first time in my life.

I now fully grasp that when we don't eat properly, pay proper attention to our digestion and elimination, the colon becomes like a septic tank filled with toxins that leach out into the blood and lymph making us sluggish, fatigued, and irritable. This has been happening with me for far too long, and I have only myself to blame. When a condition like this exists for a long time, it can lead to severe, debilitating depression, cancer, ulcers, heart attacks, strokes, and can put us 6' under and most of the time this happens, people don't even know WHAT happened- but it can often be traced back to simply not having an awareness of the importance of colon cleansing, fasting, proper diet, the most basic good health habits.

When we stuff our faces, the food goes down the esophogus through contractive movements like a boaconstrictor swallowing a mouse. It goes into our stomachs where digestive gastric juices consisting of hydrochloric acid and the enzyme pepsin start breaking down the food before it goes into the 20' long coiled tube called the small intestine where digestion of fats, proteins and starches is completed with help from digestive juices from the gallbladder, liver and pancreas. If this 20' long tube isn't properly flushed out through proper diet and elimination, hard scaly crud collects in it keeping us from properly absorbing our nutrients. A fortune's worth of expensive dietary supplements can be wasted this way because they're not being absorbed properly, a lot more can be done with just food if we take proper care of our digestive tracts. The digested foods pass from the small intestine back into the bloodstream to give us energy. If we are eating garbage, our blood fills up with toxins after our food is digested, and that makes us tired, irritable, depressed.

The large intestine receives the undigested waste from the small intestine. This waste mixes there with water and minerals and breeds bacteria; the waste and bacteria combine to form the feces- which can become impacted and back up in your intestines if they're not passing through you regularly, which can make you sluggish, irritable, fatigued and can lead to cancer, severe depression, and other health problems that radically slow us down.

Want to try fasting and cleansing? I found a lot of good information about it on the web. Here is one really good site- but there are many more that you can find with a search engine.

The Doctors Medical Library at http://www.medical-library.net/ contains some great articles on Colon Cleansing, History of Fasting, Juice Fasting, Scientific Basis of Fasting. This website also has a free online course that you can take regarding natural healing, and a huge online library of information covering all kinds of things. I was never on the site before, and found that it contained a section on Codex with an article that refers people to me, but other than my phone number all other info is out of date so I'll ask Dr.Kennedy to update it.
