All American Webmasters: Please post

Americans on IAHF list: Please call your Congressman and ask him to cosponsor Foods are not Drugs Act of 2001 HR 2265 IH This bill would help protect us against Codex harmonization by plugging some holes in DSHEA which allows the FDA far too much leeway to ban safe dietary supplements. Believe it or not, the current definition of FOOD in DSHEA makes FOODS including Dietary Supplements..... "Drugs"

You want to know how FDA will move to harmonize our laws to the grossly restrictive Codex standards for vitamins currently under development? They can move against us using the existing language of DSHEA which is chock full of holes.

Right now many in the pharmaceutically dominated dietary supplement industry will not get behind this bill for the simple reason that they're trying to set us up for harmonization. The excuse they are using is that they "don't want to open up DSHEA" but they wouldn't have anything to worry about if they would only engage in the proper PR campaign to get behind this bill and to educate the public and Congress to its need.

Congressman Ron Paul is to be thanked for introducing this bill. He is the only member of the House who is consistently on our side. I would have alerted you to this bill a lot sooner, but did not because I first wanted to see if Clint Miller would have trouble getting it to move just like previous bills of this kind. He has, it only has 4 cosponsors to date.

Please help! Call your Congressman via the Capital Switchboard at 202-225-3121 and if you don't know his or her name, give them your zipcode and they can look it up. Tell them you want him or her to cosponsor HR 2265 IH The Foods are Not Drugs Act, because as it is written, DSHEA allows the FDA far too much leeway to ban safe products, and you are concerned that they will use the existing bill language of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act in the future to set us up for harmonization to grossly restrictive UN Codex Vitamin Standards currently under development. Please forward this to more people! Anyone can be on the IAHF email distribution list by signing up at http://www.iahf.com
