Subject: Seems Mannatech is Running Scared: Comments on a Leaked Internal Memo- Caster Attempts to Defend Mannatech Membership in CRN to Distributors
From: IAHF.COM
Date: Sun, 22 May 2005 22:10:08 +0200

IAHF List:

Seems that Sam Caster and Mark LeDoux, Board Members of the Pharma Dominated Council for Responsible Nutrition take exception to the things IAHF & ALLIED GROUPS are saying which expose their questionable comments on the Codex Vitamin Issue. Sam seems to take the same view as the Mafia, IMHO- namely (Duh) "All TINGS happen for MY BENEFIT" Time for all network marketing distributors to read the turkeys at the TOP of these companies the RIOT ACT, here is why:

The following GARBAGE emanating from Mannatech was just forwarded to IAHF for comment- the fact that it was forwarded to IAHF from SEVERAL disgruntled Mannatech distributors who no longer TRUST either Sam Caster, Mark Le Doux or Mannatech speaks volumes---- IAHF notes that we're hearing from a HUGE number of network marketers from several companies who share our concerns, and we urge you to forward this widely in order to DEFEND your access to dietary supplements:

Here is What Mannatech is Saying right now about their highly questionable membership in CRN: (See IAHF Comments below it)

MANNATECH and the COUNCIL FOR RESPONSIBLE NUTRITION

The following is an excerpt from the minutes of the North American Leadership Call on April 5th, 2005. Sam Caster was commenting on a followup to Michael Le Doux's interview on the February Presidential call. There have been many responses- some positive- some negative and accusatory, so Sam provided Mannatech's viewpoint. [ IAHF Note: read "Mannatech's empty, hollow, SPIN]

Please understand that this is not a perfect world. Change is coming, and not all change is positive. International laws vary; some are very good for us, some aren't. On the one hand, we generally welcome Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as a means of creating a level playing field. But we aren't in favor of everything coming down the pipe, so we seek to be part of a proactive process to influence the most favorable atmosphere possible.

We examined many organizations, including the one being the most strident in its recent criticisms. Some groups favor a more strong handed approach including threats and lawsuits, but we do not feel that that is the most productive method. We felt that CRN (Council for Responsible Nutrition) is the best vehicle for influencing change for our benefit. While the CRN has a strong track record and has been attacked recently for including pharmaceutical companies into membership, the truth is that the CRN is open to nutritional manufacturers, and this does include 4 or 5 pharmaceutical companies (that produce the raw material, vitamins and minerals that go into the supplements the supplement industry sells.) However the vast majority of the CRN members are nutritional based (like Amway, Nuskin, Herbalife, Shaklee, and GNLD.) Note that Mark Le Doux is the Founder and Chairman of Natural Alternatives International Inc, which is engaged in the research, design and development of nutritional supplement programs and products for large, multinational clients and makes his living from manufacturing and selling dietary supplements.

Be aware that a whole range of information- and misinformation- floats around the internet. There are good websites, and bad sites. It is difficult to interract with people who use the internet to publish inflammatory and accusatory information, and raise money for their cause. Our job is to seek the best organizations and allies to influence things as positively as we can. As Associates, you are independent business people and can join and support whatever groups you choose. On the CRN website there is a document of myths and facts about CODEX and WTO (World Trade Organization) reference www.crnusa.org

As independent associates you have the right to publish your own opinions. Our hope is that Associates act on those individually and not push their beliefs as a campaign through their organizations.

IAHF Comments to this spin can be seen below inside [square brackets]:

MANNATECH and the COUNCIL FOR RESPONSIBLE NUTRITION

The following is an excerpt from the minutes of the North American Leadership Call on April 5th, 2005. Sam Caster was commenting on a followup to Michael Le Doux's interview on the February Presidential call. There have been many responses- some positive- some negative and accusatory, so Sam provided Mannatech's viewpoint. [ IAHF Note: read "Mannatech's empty, hollow, SPIN]

SAM CASTER- CRN BOARD MEMBER & MANNATECH CEO:
Please understand that this is not a perfect world. Change is coming, and not all change is positive. International laws vary; some are very good for us, some aren't. On the one hand, we generally welcome Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as a means of creating a level playing field. But we aren't in favor of everything coming down the pipe, so we seek to be part of a proactive process to influence the most favorable atmosphere possible.

IAHF COMMENT: [If this were TRUE, Mannatech, and all CRN member companies would have gotten behind the ANH lawsuit which they've steadfastly OPPOSED for the simple reason that they WANT one set of regulations for the WORLD- and to GET THIS they're willing to sell us all down the river.... for more insight, please read Suzanne Harris, JDs excellent article "Who Says Whatever Happens at Codex Won't Affect US Law & Why Do They Say It?" http://www.thelawloft.com/Freedom/050125_us_law.htm

SAM CASTER:
We examined many organizations, including the one being the most strident in its recent criticisms. Some groups favor a more strong handed approach including threats and lawsuits, but we do not feel that that is the most productive method.

IAHF COMMENT: [Yes, Mannatech opposes lawsuits such as ANH's, and they oppose demonstrations- such as Matthias Rath's, because they have SOLD OUT in the face of an OBVIOUS genocide agenda... Caster is helping CRN to LIE to people on the Codex issue. CRN would have people believe that the END POINT for what is being called "Scientific Risk Assessment" are the so called "Safe Upper Levels" generated by the US based National Academy of Sciences, but the AWFUL REALITY is FAR DIFFERENT:

See this table to see the "Maximum Safe Permitted Levels" that only the German Federal Institute of Risk Assessment has generated: http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_145.doc

Also- Caster and CRN would have you believe that what they're CALLING "Scientific Risk Assessment" at Codex is in FACT "scientific". Every distributor in Mannatech should immediately stick the aforementioned TABLE in front of Caster's nose and DEMAND an EXPLANATION.

Every distributor in Mannatech should stick ANH's Comments to the World Health Organization on Nutrient Risk Assessment in front of Caster's nose and DEMAND that Mannatech respond, in detail, to what ANH is saying to the World Health Organization, especially since ANH's comments have been endorsed by Jeff Bland, PhD; Alan Gaby, MD and a slew of other PhDs and alternative MDs who SHARE ANH's serious concerns about what Codex is trying to FOIST OFF on the vitamin consumers of the world: http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_121.pdf ]

SAM CASTER- We felt that CRN (Council for Responsible Nutrition) is the best vehicle for influencing change for our benefit. While the CRN has a strong track record and has been attacked recently for including pharmaceutical companies into membership, the truth is that the CRN is open to nutritional manufacturers, and this does include 4 or 5 pharmaceutical companies (that produce the raw material, vitamins and minerals that go into the supplements the supplement industry sells.) However the vast majority of the CRN members are nutritional based (like Amway, Nuskin, Herbalife, Shaklee, and GNLD.)

IAHF COMMENT: [This sort of spin really makes me feel nauseus. The TRUTH is that CRN was ONCE an HONEST trade association (years ago, when it was started on someone's kitchen table for the GENUINE PURPOSE of defending the dietary supplement industry), but somewhere along the line it was HIJACKED by multinational pharma interests whose goal is to COOPT and DESTROY the supplement industry. Caster would have you believe that MONSANTO, CARGILL, PFIZER, BAYER, BASF and WYETH are our FRIENDS (just because they sell raw materials used in the manufacture of dietary supplements. Think about THIS for a MINUTE: Codex is designed to favor companies like MERCK who sell SYNTHETIC VITAMINS. Via the EU FSD we see what they're trying to do: drive all the FOOD FORMS, the most BIOAVAILABLE Forms of nutrients from the marketplace. That way, they can DESTROY the INNOVATIVE SECTOR of the supplement industry, the sector that sells the BEST products, and Sam Caster is HELPING them do that.

This makes ME angry, and it SHOULD make YOU angry too. CRN is not on our side. They're LYING to everyone. Demand that CRN formally respond to ALL POINTS being made in this ANH submission to the World Health Organization http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_121.pdf ANH is saying that what Codex is calling "scientific risk assessment" isn't in FACT scientific, at ALL, and ANH is backed by a SLEW of immenent scientists and orthomolecular MDs. )]

SAM CASTER: Note that Mark Le Doux is the Founder and Chairman of Natural Alternatives International Inc, which is engaged in the research, design and development of nutritional supplement programs and products for large, multinational clients and makes his living from manufacturing and selling dietary supplements.

IAHF COMMENT: [ So WHAT? Ever MEET the guy? His handshake is as weak as a spineless jellyfish's, he's a BUSINESSMAN, what actual PERSONAL interest in HEALTH does he in FACT have? Far too many in this industry have no genuine PERSONAL interest in health, and they've made $$$ their GOD and they're SELLING US OUT. Demand that Mark LeDoux respond to what ANH is saying about THIS TABLE http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_145.doc

Demand that he respond to the fact that John Hathcock of CRN was not allowed to be on the "Nutrient Risk Assessment Panel" convened by the WHO under the auspices of Christine Lewis-Taylor of the FDA which is filling in the blanks for allowable potencies of vitamins and minerals, but Hathcock is RUNNING INTERFERENCE for his former colleague at the FDA from whence he came. Demand that LeDoux and CRN respond to this ANH submission to the World Health Organization on so called "Scientific" risk assessment http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_121.pdf ]

SAM CASTER: Be aware that a whole range of information- and misinformation- floats around the internet.

IAHF Comment: [ Be aware that Sam Caster has stepped in a hole here from which he won't be able to extracate himself, and be aware that all network marketing vitamin companies have embraced the CRN position either as members of CRN, or via advisement from the Direct Selling Assn. Be aware that the DSA doesn't have lawyers focused on the Codex vitamin issue, they just refer people from companies such as USANA (which belongs to DSA but not to CRN) to people like CASTER, and be mindful of the SPIN Caster is scurrulously attempting to FOIST OFF on people figuring the vast majority won't attempt to look BEYOND it.

Are you a distributor for Mannatech, Shaklee, Herbalife, GNLD or Nuskin? How about for USANA or some other DSA member company thats being fed this GARBAGE from Caster and Le Doux?

Want to hold a cross in front of the VAMPIRES?

Challenge them to IMMEDIATELY respond to the truth of THIS TABLE
http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_145.doc and THIS submission to the World Health Organization re the total FRAUDULENCE of what CRN is calling "scientific risk assessment" http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/_docs/ANHWebsiteDoc_121.pdf

Do I earn a living as a legislative advocate? Yes, I do, and I do this work because I have a GENETIC NEED for the vitamins I take. They saved my LIFE after mainstream medicine almost killed me. I make no apologies for beating my head against brick walls in an effort to bring you the TRUTH, and often when I go to Washington DC to lobby, I sleep on the FLOOR at a friends house in Silver Spring, Maryland on an AIR MATTRESS because I lack the FUNDS to sleep in the posh places favored by the likes of SAM CASTER and MARK LEDOUX.]

SAM CASTER: As independent associates you have the right to publish your own opinions. Our hope is that Associates act on those individually and not push their beliefs as a campaign through their organizations.

IAHF TRANSLATION: Sam Caster would much prefer that you DON'T forward THIS EMAIL from ME to your downline because he would much prefer to SIDESTEP THE TRUTH on the Codex vitamin issue. Had ENOUGH? Maybe you can help IAHF bring a couple of allies over from the UK, we are planning a lobbying trip to Washington DC within the next 2 weeks to lobby against CAFTA/FTAA via which the likes of CASTER and CRN hope to create a CARBON COPY of the EU DICTATORSHIP in our HEMISPHERE.

PLEASE see my article in May Issue of The Connection Magazine http://www.theconnect.com/downloadissue.html
and draw your OWN conclusion as to who is telling the truth here.....

PLEASE forward my article and make copies to hand out at every health food store in your area. If you are an MLM distributor, please urge your DOWNLINE and your UPLINE to all read it.

I would be glad to do a conference call with any group of network marketing vitamin distributors or others at NO CHARGE to help you get your heads around this issue.

I'll be on the AIR for 2 uninterrupted hours on Tuesday night May 24th from 6:30-8:30 PM Pacific Time on a web based show at http://www.Mysteriesofthemind.com

Please tune in and pass it on.

Anyone can sign up for the IAHF email distribution list at http://www.iahf.com
Donations for our lobbying trip to DC are badly needed, see address below...
