IAHF List: Yesterday I sent the following public response to Lisa Garner regarding her grossly inaccurate response to a YL distributor named Joline

http://www.ymlp.com/pubarchive_show_message.php?jham+329

Today I received the FOLLOWING REPLY from Garner (see below) which I am posting publicly in order to illustrate an important point about the gross dishonesty that seems to pervade the network marketing vitamin company world when it comes to the Codex issue**

(*** Note: This should NOT be misconstrued as an attack on individual network marketing distributors who I know to be doing their due diligence on this issue, but it is most definitly well DESERVED criticism levelled at the FRONT OFFICES of ALL Network Marketing Vitamin Companies because NONE are helping to address this issue, and MANY are CAUSING HARM to our efforts to fight back.)

Each and every one of these companies should be ACTIVELY ENCOURAGING their members to help KILL the Central American Free Trade Agreement which could come up for a fast track vote THIS MONTH or in early June at the latest for the detailed reasons given at http://www.ymlp.com/pubarchive_show_message.php?jham+329, but they're not.

They're NOT because the TRUTH means LITTLE to these companies.

The PRIMARY CONCERN of each and every network marketing vitamin company is NOT to defend consumer access to dietary supplements, its to SQUELCH the dissemination of ANY and ALL political information pertaining to health freedom issues that MIGHT SCARE AWAY potential new distributors from entering at the bottom.

ALL other concerns are of little importance to these companies which employ dozens of PR Flaks such as Garner to keep a LID on the TRUTH when it comes to issues such as this.

How do I know this? Simple: I've been lobbying professionally for health freedom since 1989, and have been around the block more than a few times. I can count the number of times the front offices of ANY network marketing companies have taken strong political stances on issues such as this on the fingers of ONE HAND.

I was just ATTACKED by an incensed YLEO distributor who seems to think I owe Lisa Garner and the whole network marketing world an "APOLOGY" for expressing myself in the way I have on this matter, but her anger is about as ABSURD as it would be for someone in a marine battalion to be angered by someone who STRONGLY URGED that everyone pile into the FOXHOLES because radar indicated that an enemy bombing run was IMMINENT.

If you are a distributor for YLEO, or any other network marketing company, please forward this widely.A REVOLT is clearly in order against the front office of YLEO and every other network marketing companies front office that is attempting to bury their head in the sand on this issue.

Value your ongoing business? Value your ongoing ACCESS to dietary supplements?

Great- grasp that YLEO has been mindlessly following the "advice" of the pharma dominated Council for Responsible Nutrition, and pharma dominated IADSA per the urging of the Direct Selling Assn and take it upon yourselves to THINK FOR YOURSELVES on this issue. Read yesterdays alert http://www.ymlp.com/pubarchive_show_message.php?jham+329 and take the recommended actions.

Rather than go into "PR MODE" as Garner does below, what would actually IMPRESS me would be if YLEO and all other network marketing companies actually asked all their distributors to send the FORM LETTERS to Congress opposing CAFTA and FTAA out of the realization that these trade agreements WILL DESTROY the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 unless STOPPED.

The form letters that can defend YOUR BUSINESS & YOUR ONGOING ACCESS to dietary supplements are contained at the following two websites and should be send immediately:
http://www.stoptheftaa.org/cafta/index.html
http://www.citizen.org/trade/cafta/

I HATE DISHONEST PUBLIC RELATIONS BS, and THIS RESPONSE FROM LISA GARNER TO MY MESSAGE YESTERDAY REEKS OF IT: YLEO SHOULD BE POSTING AN ALERT ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THEIR WEBSITE, AND SHOULD BE ALERTING THEIR DISTRIBUTORS TO TAKE ACTION--- INSTEAD, THEY'RE TRYING TO SWEEP THIS MATTER UNDER THE RUG VIA SLICK PR INTENDED TO _PRETEND_ TO BE ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE: SEE:

Subject: Re: ANH views on Codex

Dear Dr. Verkerk and Mr. Hammell,

You are correct, the meeting with Mr. Winegar and ANH took place in 2003. It was my misunderstanding that the meeting was during his trip to Europe last month. I sincerely apologize.

I have spoken to the Executive Team, and they have given me the following response to pass on to you:

We believe the ANH position is accurately reflected on the ANH website and we will review it further if we have questions regarding your position. We are currently working with several groups in the US and outside the US that we feel will make a difference in keeping the market open for nutritional supplements. We will continue to work to ensure that our products can be sold freely in all of our markets and we thank you for informing us of your perspective. Please understand that we do take these issues very seriously and will continue to do so until it is resolved. Again, thank you for your efforts.

Sincerely,

Lisa Garner
